Scouting

Scouting is a voluntary, non-political movement for young people open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed in accordance with purpose, principles and methods as conceived by the Founder.

The purpose of Scouting is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, emotional and character potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

History and Method

Scouting began in the world in 1907 in England. Lord Robert Baden Powell founded the scouts movement to help young people acquire tactical skills and knowledge to overcome daily challenges in life.

Scouting entails observation, listening, participation and competition. Rovers perform leadership role.

Fundamental Beliefs

Duty to God, Duty to others, Duty to oneself, and Adherence to Promise and Law.

Flamingo Rovers Life

Competition: Inter-patrol competitions and Rover Challenges are undertaken by Scouts to test and sharpen their skills on scouting knowledge and tactical skills.

Camping: Scouts go camping during Founders and Thinking Day, Fun camps, Training camps, Jamborees, Day-camps and work camps.

Volunteer-ship: Scouts offer free voluntary services and carry out activities that benefit communities.
